Whitney Taylor’s debut novel has been sold, in a pre-empt, to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt! Definitions of Indefinable Things is a heartbreaking and humorous YA novel about three teens in a small town whose lives intersect in ways they never expected, teaching them that there are no one-size-fits-all definitions of depression, friendship, and love.
I discovered Whitney Taylor and this incredible manuscript during a pitch contest on Twitter (#PitMad). This is the tweet that caught my attention: “With depression down to a science, 17-year-old Reggie has to figure out what’s worth living for or lose her sanity.” I fell head-over-heels in love with the manuscript, and I am thrilled that Margaret Raymo at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers did as well.
Definitions of Indefinable Things will make its way to bookstores in Spring 2017.
